As a model, Richard Reagan displays a self confidence that makes you believe he is among the best on The Beach. He was photographed during one session at the Athletic Model Guild studios. That session probably took place in 1961 when he was 21 or 22 years old. His incredible poses were first released in AMG’s catalog VM in March of 1962 and were subsequently featured in three Physique Pictorials. As you probably know from Bob Mizer's comments in those Physique Pictorials, Dick’s model card containing all of his personal statistics was misplaced (never to be found) even before he was first presented in Physique Pictorial.
What we do know about him is that he was born in 1939 and was living in Glendale, California. He may have married in 1963. I'm unable to find references to him among the other period photographers under this name. Like many of the physique models of the 1950s and 1960s, Dick may have been a construction worker, a truck driver or an auto mechanic who spent his weekends at Muscle Beach to share his incredible physique, but who never went on to make it a full time career. Supporting a family on trophies was difficult. He has always been one of my favorites. Wouldn't it be fantastic if he saw this post and contacted us to say 'Hey, here's where I've been!"? Dick, if you read this, contact us!
Thanks for your question.
